2012 NBA Draft Live Online and TV Preview

This year’s 2012 NBA draft will be held on Thursday the 28th of June, in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Centre. The scheduled start time for this event is at 7:00 pm EDT (2300 GMT) and the event will be broadcasted by ESPN in the United States.  Their sports broadband network will also show the event live streaming online for free in participating regions.
To watch the televised NBA draft, simply check your cable or satellite provider for the appropriate channel.  The alternate way to view this year’s draft lottery is by watching online at the WatchESPN or ESPN3 website.  This live streaming coverage is available in participating regions around the United States.  Viewers will need a high speed internet connection to enjoy the draft in this way.

Teams that miss the playoffs, get to have the first 14 picks in the NBA draft, with the order being determined by a lottery, and for this year it was held on May 30th, 2012 in New York at the Disney’s/ ABC Times Square studio. The New Orleans Hornets were the winners to the rights of being the 1st in the overall selection. They were followed by the Charlotte Bobcats and Washington Wizards who came in second and third respectively.  Now these teams, and others will be looking to select the stars of the future to help rebuild their teams.

One of the top players who will be in the lottery picks is 19yr old Anthony Davis from Kentucky, whose position is a power forward. Others include 18yr old Michael Kidd-Gilchrist also from Kentucky who plays in the small forward position, 18yr old Bradley Beal from Florida who is a shooting guard, 21yr old Thomas Robinson from Kansas who is a power forward and 18yr old Andre Drummond from Connecticut who is also a position forward among others.

Other top college basketball players who may find themselves among the top lottery picks on June 28th are Harrison Barnes, Bradley Beal, Jeremy Lamb, Austin Rivers, Dion Waiters, and Jared Sullinger.
