2012 Belmont Stakes Results Updated

The 2012 Belmont Stakes results come Saturday night with the unfortunate news that the favorite, I’ll Have Another, has been scratched from the race.  The horse had suffered a tendonitis injury causing its trainer and team to choose to retire it.  So while there won’t be a Triple Crown winner in 2012, there will be a new horse winning in the Belmont race.

Currently, the Belmont Stakes race post time is scheduled for 6:35PM EST on NBC.  The event will also be live streaming on the NBC Sports website for fans to watch the excitement of horse racing online.  For pre-race coverage, NBC will begin its show at 4:30PM EST, which will also be shown on the live stream site.

Due to I’ll Have Another not competing in this race, it leaves 11 other contenders and a new favorite.  Dullahan is currently a 9 to 5 favorite to win the race, followed by Union Rags at 3 to 1.  Street Life carries odds of 8 to 1 currently.

Update: Union Rags has won the Belmont Stakes, after edging out Paynter for the finish!
