NASCAR Schedule 2011: Pure Michigan 400 Race Time & Odds

The 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rolls on this weekend as the top drivers in the world will be dueling it out at the Michigan International Speedway for the Pure Michigan 400.  Drivers including Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick and Matt Kenseth will all be looking to gain the victory and much needed points to climb higher in the current NASCAR standings.

This will be the second time this year that MIS will be hosting a Sprint Cup Series race.  Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards are the early favorites to win the Pure Michigan 400 race, both with 7/1 odds.

Every race becomes more important for the top racers in the lead for the overall points leader in the Sprint Cup Series lead. Coming into this big race, Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch are tied for the lead. Jimmy Johnson is in third place.

Look for many fans rooting for home town son Brad Keselowski this weekend as the native Michigander tries for his 3rd win of the season.

The Pure Michigan 400 takes place Sunday, August 21st from Michigan International Speedway at 1:00PM ET.  Television coverage will be on ESPN starting at 1PM EST, with radio coverage on MRN at12 PM.  The full odds to win for the Pure Michigan 400 race are listed below.

After Michigan International Speedway and the Pure Michigan 400, the NASCAR schedule will head to Bristol next weekend for the Irwin Tools Night Race.  From there, NASCAR Sprint Cup action hits Atlanta, Richmond, Chicago and Loudon to finish out September.  Expect the action to get fast and furious as the drivers look to get ahead in the standings!
