US Open Golf 2011 Championship TV Dates Schedule

The US Open Golf 2011 TV dates schedule is official as play will begin this week.  Defending champion Graeme McDowell is back to defend his 2010 title while the rest of the professional field is coming in confident. With Tiger Woods not playing in the Open for the first time in years, many golfers seem to have a bit of confidence heading into the open. It is going to a memorable open for many and the winner could be another surprise to the PGA.  Read on for more information on when and how to watch this year’s exciting US Open golf action!

Play will begin on Thursday June 16th with the first round that is expected to start at around 10:30 AM (ET,) which can be seen on ESPN and NBC and will continue throughout the entire day. Live coverage will be bouncing around between ESPN from 10:30 AM to 3PM, then will switch over to NBC from 3PM-5PM. Finally, the last golfers of day one can be viewed back on ESPN from 5 PM to 7PM.

The schedule for Friday the 17th is identical as the Thursdays. ESPN will cover from 10:30 AM to 3 PM, NBC from 3 PM to 5 PM and then wrap up back on ESPN from 5 PM to 7 PM. After play is done on Friday, the qualifying rounds will be over. Golfers who are fortunate to make the cut will resume their third round on Saturday the 18th followed by the final round being play on Father’s Day on Sunday the 19th.

Third and fourth round coverage will be provided NBC for the entirety of the days. Starting on Saturday at 2 PM (ET), the first groups will tee-off and coverage will be provided up until 8 PM.

On Championship Sunday, NBC will begin covering the final round at 130P M and the coverage is expected to last until around 7:30 PM that evening.

In the last 4 major championships, a player who hadn’t won a major before has been victorious. Will this trent continue or will an old champion rise once again. World number one Luke Donald is coming into the tournament confident but many players such as Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood are looking to spoil it.
