When it comes to thoroughbred horse racing events, the Kentucky Derby is one of the biggest, but then comes the next biggest in the Triple Crown. As the Preakness Stakes 2011 race drawing closer by the moment, we have the full horse race betting odds and post positions for Saturday’s 136th running. There’s big money to be won in betting on horse racing, with the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes. Let’s take a look at which horses are currently favored for Saturday’s race at Pimlico Race Course.
Fourteen horses are officially entered to compete in this latest thoroughbred horse racing event. It’s no surprise that the 2011 winner of the Kentucky Derby, Animal Kingdom, is the favorite in Baltimore. Animal Kingdom is 2 to 1 odds to win at Preakness, which would make the thoroughbred two-thirds of the way towards achieving a historic Triple Crown. Also favored are Derby contenders Mucho Macho Man, Shackleford and Dialed In. A horse who wasn’t in the Derby, Dance City, is among the favorites as well.

As seen above Dialed In ranks second in the odds behind Animal Kingdom, followed by Mucho Macho Man, and then the tie between Shackleford and Dance City. Mucho Macho Man finished third in the Kentucky Derby, while Shackleford placed fourth and Dialed in was eight in the field’s finish. One of these other thoroughbreds is looking to gain an upset victory during the big horse racing event on Saturday, while many fans want to see a historic win achieved.
